Picture a way to hide that unsightly thermostat!

Wall thermostats allow home owners a way to manage the climate inside their home.  These devises are often placed on the middle of a wall making them an eye sore and decorating difficult.

One solution to working around these devises is to work over them.  Pictured to the left is an example of how three lightweight canvas paintings, strategically placed, can mask the the thermostat.  Now the wall has colorful artwork to view instead of a lackluster white box!  

Wallpaper is Back!

Before Accent Wallpaper

Add style to an accent wall by simply hanging modern wallpaper.  Before this hall corridor seemed flat and lifeless.  The brown paint and pictures were nice.  Now, after hanging wallpaper with a suede look and feel, the accent wall captures the eye.  The look and feel of this wallpaper is like art itself!

Hint:  Avoid the common wallpaper that is in Home Depot or Lowes.  Find a store that deals in wallpaper and an entire new world of selections will open up to you!

A quick and inexpensive solution to updating your drawers!

1. Select a peel and stick wall decal or paper.
2. Purchase enough material for the area you are to cover.

3. Cut the paper to size, leaving an extra 2 inches on each side.
    This is important as you need extra paper to tuck around drawer's sides.
4. Remove the drawer you are to cover.
5. Peel the paper away from adhesive and carefully position it over the face of the drawer.
6. Tuck the corners as if you were making the bed for the military.
7. Place draw back into its spot.
8. Stand back . . . admire your work and ingenuity!

Nail Polish To the Rescue!

A client of mine needed to paint a small area in her red wall that had been scratched off
while moving furniture.

"What do I do?" she asked me. "I don't recall the name of the paint used on that wall."

Glancing at the small spot of white, sticking out like a sore thumb in the middle of her
red wall, I declared, "Nail polish!"

Within moments she returned with a bottle of red nail polish from her bathroom. Just a
few strokes and the white spot was no longer noticeable.

Nail polish . . . the hero of the day!

Add New Heigths to Your Christmas Tree

Want a 15 foot tree for the price of a 12 foot tree?  Here is how to add the illusion of heigth.

Step 1:
Place your tree stand on a dolly (as seen to the left) or a heavy box.

Step 2:
Secure tree base to the box or dolly using zip ties or cording.

Step 3:
Construct tree according to directions.

Step 4:
Place your tree skirt over the base of the tree and dolly.

Add a tall tree topper to the top for a few extra inches of height!

Added plus: The dolly allows you the flexibility to turn your tree while decorating.

Go Bold. Add Items that make a statement, but don't over do it. Stick to pieces that are the same shape or color to give a clean modern feel.
